Have you been admiring punch needle projects and wondering how it is done? This is a perfect class for beginners and also those who may have tried before but want to learn the ins and outs from an Oxford Certified Instructor.
In this 2 part online workshop you will learn all the basics from start to finish. In the first session we will cover how to stretch the monks cloth, how to thread the needle, the yarns that work will and how to get nice even loops. In the second session 2 different finishing techniques will be taught and students can either do one of each on the coasters or select their preferred method for both.
I will provide the PDF pattern with the purchase of the workshop and students can use their own supplies (listed below) OR you can also purchase a kit:
Basic kit:
- the wool yarn needed to complete 2 coasters in the colours pictured (Heritage wool yarn by Briggs and Little)
- the pattern already drawn on monks cloth
- wool fabric and Heat n' Bond for that back to if you choose to finish that way
Students will also need a #13 or #14 Fine Oxford Punch needle, non-slip hoop OR gripper strip frame, minimum size 12" (so the design fits well) and scissors
Deluxe kit:
- Everything above plus this kit includes a 12" non-slip Morgan Hoop and a #13 Oxford punch needle.
Students will just need scissors which can also be added to the order.
