Do you wish you had weekly meet-ups with people just like you? A group that never tires of talking about rug hooking? That wants to hear about your frustrations and is there with tips or suggestions? A group that inspires you? Well I did! So I created the Creativity Club!
It is an ONGOING and ONLINE club for all levels of rug hookers who want to learn, explore, and connect! It includes (but not limited to):
-Weekly Meet-ups every Monday at 11am ET on Zoom. We share tips and tricks, help one another on challenging projects and always have rich creative conversations. All meet-ups are recorded and share only with members, so you can watch later if you can't join in live.
-Monthly workshops on the 2nd Monday of every month. So far, I've taught workshop on colour theory, Mandalas, Flower design, and pet portraits.
April 12th : Designing original rugs even if you can't draw well (I will review my 'cut and trace' method) and lots of other tips and tricks.
FYI -my next article in Rug Hooking Magazine summer edition is all about this!
May 10th: Composition and other important concepts from the art world -made relevant to hooking
June 14th: People and faces
July 12th: Perspective drawing and other tips on making flat surfaces have depth.
***These are 'hands on' workshops so please have paper/sketchbook, pencils, paper scissors and ruler handy, as well as relevant photos you may want to refer to for your design (ideally print them out)***
-A private Facebook group for exclusive videos, Facebook live events and conversations and sharing our process, discussing challenges and celebrating our progress
-Free downloadable rug hooking designs every few months
-First dibs on signing up for new classes (and discounts on many of them!)
$25 per month for everything listed above
$50(+shipping) for everything listed PLUS a monthly mixed fibre pack mailed to you that relates to our workshop theme.
What are members saying about the club?
"Creativity Club meetings are very relaxing and low-key. You can share as much or as little as you like. Zoom gets better and better with frequent use. And any session that is missed can be viewed later so nothing missed."
"Robin is always upbeat and supportive of us developing our art in our own ways. I work well with her style of no rules, just suggestions when you ask for them."
"The Creativity Club is a group of people that I love hanging out with on a regular basis. The creativity club zoom calls are often one of the biggest highlights of my week and I get not only tips and techniques for my projects, but also a social outlet with people who want to talk about the same things that I love talking about. People often say that it can be hard to find new friends as an adult and I think that groups like this are an amazing way to find kindred spirits."
