In this online workshop you will learn the fundamentals of traditional Cheticamp style rug hooking while making this 4x4" coaster. The kit includes the pattern on burlap (the preferred backing for this style hooking), a handmade hook, and the wool yarn required.
Students will need a hoop or gripper frame, sharp scissors , thread and sewing needle to complete the project.
About the teacher:
Betty Ann Cormier is originally from Cheticamp, Nova Scotia. Learning from her maman, Betty Ann is the fourth generation who took up the craft of rug hooking 56 years ago. She designs, hooks and dyes her own wool. She has been teaching rug hooking for 10 years.
