New! Hook or Punch Your Own 3D Pumpkin

A simple, cheerful project that takes your work off the flat and into something you can set on a shelf, a mantel, or the middle of the table.

Suitable for traditional rug hooking or Oxford Punch Needle, and for anyone with basic hooking or punching experience who's comfortable with simple hand stitching.

The course is 7 pre-recorded videos, each 5 to 15 minutes long. Short enough to squeeze in over a cup of tea, and you can pause, rewind, and rewatch as often as you like. The pattern is included.

Shaping something in 3D can feel a little fiddly the first time. That's normal. I'll walk you through each step, and if your pumpkin ends up a bit lumpy, well, so do the ones in the patch! My pumpkin is about 8” wide and almost 5” high (with the pattern as is), but once you have the pattern, you can easily enlarge it and make a whole pumpkin patch!

What you'll need:

Linen or monk's cloth for backing, about 30" x 30". Random leftovers work great!
Yarn and/or wool fabric strips. Another great chance to use up odds and ends.
A punch needle (suited to your yarn thickness) OR a hook
Scissors
A frame or a sturdy, non-slip hoop
A button, needle and thread (ideally also a long 'doll' needle)
Something for the stem. I'll share a few DIY ideas in the videos!
